Free Over 50s Yoga Taster in Liverpool: Move Well Through Your Golden Years

Golden Yoga at Jenny Green Liverpool

If you’re over 50 and curious about yoga, but worry you might be “too stiff”, “too old”, or “not bendy enough”, this free taster class is for you.

On Wednesday 25 February 2026, 10.45–11.45am, I’m offering a FREE Over 50s Yoga Taster Class at Jennifer Green Health and Wellness, 615 Smithdown Road, Liverpool, L15 5AG. It’s a gentle, welcoming session designed to help you explore how yoga can support you as you age – no experience required.

Why a taster class for over 50s?

We’re living longer than ever before, and we now know so much more about how movement, breath and nervous system health affect the way we age. How we move in our 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond can make a real difference to our:

  • Strength and balance
  • Joint comfort and mobility
  • Confidence in everyday activities
  • Mood, sleep and overall sense of wellbeing

But many people feel shut out of “usual” yoga classes. The pace can be too fast, the shapes too extreme, or the atmosphere a bit intimidating.

This taster is designed to be the opposite of that.

What to expect in the taster

This is a one‑hour, in‑person session created especially for people over 50 who want to move more comfortably and feel more at home in their bodies.

In the class we will:

  • Explore gentle, functional movements that support everyday life – reaching, twisting, getting up and down more easily.
  • Use breath and simple awareness practices to help your nervous system settle and reduce feelings of stress or anxiety.
  • Pay attention to fascia and whole‑body connections so movement feels integrated rather than forced.
  • Take things at a steady, unhurried pace, with options for different bodies and energy levels.

What you won’t find:

  • No pressure to keep up or “perform”
  • No pretzel shapes or headstands
  • No being pushed into anything that doesn’t feel right for you

You’re welcome exactly as you are.

How we age is a choice

We can’t control everything about ageing, but we can choose how we respond to it.

With more information than ever about the science of ageing – and its impact on our muscles, joints, bones, brain and hormones – we have a real opportunity to practise in a way that supports us long‑term, not just in the moment.

In this taster, I’ll share:

  • A simple, friendly overview of what changes in the body as we age (in plain English).
  • Practical tips you can use straight away to move well day to day – even if you never come to another class.
  • How a regular, gentle yoga practice can help you stay strong, steady and more comfortable in your own skin.

My aim is that you leave feeling calmer, a little more spacious, and more empowered about how you can support yourself moving forwards.

Who this class is for

This taster is ideal if you:

  • Are 50+ and new to yoga
  • Have tried classes before and felt they were too fast, too hard, or not quite right
  • Feel stiff, achy or wobbly on your feet and want to do something supportive about it
  • Would like to meet friendly faces in a small, welcoming group setting

You don’t need:

  • Any previous yoga experience
  • To be flexible or “fit”
  • Fancy leggings or special equipment

Just wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Mats and props can be provided.
