For me, embodied yoga is all about being guided by the felt sensations of our body as we move. 

As the pioneering yoga teacher Vanda Scaravelli put it, we are ‘working with the body, not against it.’

Embodied yoga combines movement practice with breath awareness and creative flows. Classes will help you develop strength, improve range of motion, and release tension. Most importantly, by bringing attention to our felt sensations as we practice, we can begin to listen to and trust our body’s innate wisdom.

I first discovered yoga in my teens, watching and practicing along to ashtanga yoga DVDs in my parents’ living room. Since then, my understanding of yoga and the human body has continued to grow, and in 2019, I gained my first teaching qualification in vinyasa flow yoga.

I was introduced to embodied yoga by an outstanding teacher in Liverpool, and in 2022 I completed my Level 2 training with esteemed senior teacher Julie Martin of Brahmani Yoga. 

In the past three years, my teaching has incorporated an evolving understanding of fascia and movement science, which I have been learning from senior teachers and anatomy experts, Gary Carter, Peter Blackaby and Trina Altman. Whether teaching 1-1 or in group classes, I am guided by these teachings, as well as by the individuals in front of me.
